Screen CVs faster and fairer

8/31/2026

Unstructured screening is slow, inconsistent between reviewers, and easy to challenge.

Score against the ad, not against a feeling Before you open the first CV, write down three to five must-have capabilities from your own ad and weight them. Score each CV against those only.

Use a match threshold Anything at or above roughly 50% of the must-haves goes to a first conversation. Sidedoor builds each role a shortlist on the same basis so you start from candidates who already clear the bar.

Strip the noise School names, photos and career gaps are weak predictors. Evidence of the specific work is a strong one.

Talk to people sooner A fifteen-minute call tells you more than an hour of CV forensics. Book the calls, then decide.

Keep a record Write one line of reasoning per decision. It speeds up calibration with hiring managers and protects you if a decision is questioned.
